RSS FEEDS
WHAT IS RSS?Kaaitheater now also offers RSS feeds. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. It is an implementation of XML (Extended Markup Language). The RSS icon
indicates whether a site provides this service.It comes down to the information on the site being accessible in such a way that it can be called up by a newsreader, a browser (Mozilla) or another website. You can thus request new productions or news items from Kaaitheater without needing to surf to the site.
With RSS you can stay informed of the most recent news concerning the topics of your choice with a few clicks of the mouse:
- you are automatically notified via your newsreader when new news items appear
- you save time because you are not required to constantly surf to your favourite websites in search of news
WHAT DO I NEED FOR THIS?
First, you need a newsreader. Most programmes can be downloaded free. Some browsers such as Firefox also offer RSS support.
In any case, we can recommend the following sites: FeedReader, NewzCrawler, FeedDemon, BottomFeeder of RRSOwl. More choices are available at the Belgian portal site rss.startpagina.be.
Finally, you also need the feeds themselves. You can either drag the icon to your newsreader, or copy the code next to it into your reader.
